River Legacy Parks span over 1,300 acres of land along the Trinity River, serving as a natural habitat for the plants and animals native to the region. More than eight miles of paved hiking and biking trails run through open green areas and wooded forest land, over rivers and past ponds, featuring informative signs, recreational spaces for families and quiet areas for relaxation. Also on site, the River Legacy Learning Science Center gives an in-depth educational look at the natural history of the region. It is located on the northern edge of the city, past the Rolling Hills Country Club.
