Founded in 1887, the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges (NASULGC) is the nations oldest higher education association. Dedicated to supporting excellence in teaching, research and public service, NASULGC has been in the forefront of educational leadership nationally for more than 120 years. NASULGC encompasses 217 members, consisting of state (nonland-grant) universities, land-grant institutions and state university systems. The total includes 76 land-grant universities, of which 18 are historically black institutions. In addition, 33 tribal colleges were granted land-grant status in 1994 and are represented in NASULGC through the membership of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium. The Higher Education Expo provides businesses and organizations with the opportunity to network with more than 1,200 higher education leaders. The Higher Education Expo Hall is the central meeting location for all attendees, including coffee breaks, general breakfasts, and Sunday and Monday evening receptions. The NASULGC Annual Meeting is the only opportunity during the year to reach more than 1,200 public higher education leaders.
